Germany Calling - You Only Live Once Edition

Im September 2010 hat sich das Germany Calling-Team eine Anspielung auf  Jimi Hendrix in den Titel verpaßt. Denn Pop-Spezialist Mark Reeder hat ein paar Platten des Gotts der E-Gitarre mitgebracht, der diesen Monat vor 40 Jahren viel zu früh verstarb. Schlimm und tragisch! Aber er tat es immerhin wie ein richtiger Rockstar: er erstickte stilecht an seiner eigenen Kotze nach den übermäßigen Konsum von Alkohol und Schlaftabletten. Jonty Skrufff und Fidelity Kastrow haben auch eine schöne Mischung beizusteuern: Jonty hat zum Beispiel Popofs Remix der neuen Single der Chemical Brothers dabei, etwas Neues von Deepgroove and paar Klassiker von Derrick Carter und Soft Cell. Fidelity Kastrow macht dann auf Techno danach mit Spektre, Marc DePulse und den Remix eines Tracks von John Digweed und Nick Muir von Christian Smith, der sich verdammt nach Carl Craig anhört! Also spitzt die Ohren, wenn das Germany Calling-Trio an die Studiotür klopft. Sie haben: Tunes you can believe in!

English: This month’s melancholic memorial edition of Germany Calling (You Only Live Once) is in part dedicated to the anniversary of the death of brilliant electric guitar pioneer Jimi Hendrix, who died 40 years ago this September. Mark Reeder will be playing a mixture of Hendrix and Soft Cell as well as contemporary eightiesized synthpop as he always does, featuring synthitracks by Christina Aguilera, Marsheaux, Maja and May68.  Jonty Skrufff instead is happy to reveal he’ll be dropping Popof’s newest remix (of the Chemical Brothers), the new one from Deepgroove plus a couple of classics from Derrick Carter and a Soft Cell track too. While Fidelity Kastrow will be taking it techno with Spektre and Marc dePulse plus Christian Smith’s Carl Craig style remix of John Digweed + Nick Muir’s Satellite.
